Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine and analyze about: (1) the effect of acceleration sprint practice on speed and agility, (2) the effect of combination zig-zag drill exercise on speed and agility, (3) big difference in effect of acceleration sprint and combination zig-zag drill against speed and agility. The target of this study is the students of SMAN 2 Amarasi Barat Kabupaten Kupang who followed extracurricular activities with the number of subjects as many as 33 people taken from population or population research.

This type of research is quantitative research with quasi experimental approach (quasi experiment). Research design that researchers use is Matching Only Design and data analysis using t-test and Anova. The data retrieval process is done by speed test (30 meter sprint) and agility t-test at pretest and posttest.

The results of the study as follows: (1) the provision of acceleration sprint exercise has a significant effect on the increase of speed and agility. (2) the provision of combination zig-zag drill exercise has a significant effect on speed and agility. (3) there is a difference of influence between acceleration sprint and combination zig-zag drill exercise on speed and agility.
