A Profile of Creative Probelem Solving Islamic Senior High School Based on Math Self-Efficacy Levels

Abstract


This study aimed at describing the profile of creative problem solving Islamic Senior High School students based on math self-efficacy (MSE) levels. To achieve these objectives the researchers use creative problem-solving stage CPS Version 6.1 namely constructing opportunities, exploring data, framing problems, generating ideas, developing solutions, and building acceptance.

This research is a descriptive qualitative approach. Subjects consisted of two students with high and low MSE based on the analysis of questionnaires the PISA math self-efficacy scale. The data collection technique is task-based interviews to obtain data on students' creative problem solving.

The results showed that (1) students with high MSE in constructing opportunities: make statements that help solve problems accompanied with reasons and they realize of its use; exploring data: generating questions accompanied with reasons; framing the problem: seeking a specific or targeted question accompanied with reasons; generating ideas: doing fluency, which was to find the ideas to solve problems accompanied with the reason, doing flexibility, are finding various ways, without making a novelty, it does not use the original ideas in solving problems; developing solutions: choosing and identifying the best measures and is accompanied with the reason, and feeling confident that the steps choosen are the best ones; and building acceptance: convincing the measures taken is the best way; and (2) students with low MSE in constructing opportunities: make statements and accompanied by reasons and without realizing the usage; exploring data: can not generating questions accompanied with reasons; framing the problem: seeking a specific or targeted question accompied with reasons; generating ideas: doing fluency, that mention ideas to solve problems accompanied with the reason, doing flexibility, are finding various ways, without making a novelty, it does not use the original ideas in problem solving; developing solutions: choosing and identifying the best measures accompanied with the reason, and feeling confident that the steps choosen are the best ones; and building acceptance: convincing measures taken is appropriate.
