Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of the learning materials  using the 5E learning cycle model implemented in learning on the attitude aspects, the ability of the science process and the learning outcomes of learners. The type of this research is descriptive quantitative with one group pretest-postest research design. The subjects of the study were students from SMP Negeri 12 Kota Bengkulu with 58 students selected at random. The research instruments used are attitude observation sheet, student activity observation sheet, and test of learning result. Data analysis used is analysis of learning implementation, gain test, and t test. The results showed that the learning materials 5E cycle learning model is consistently effective in improving attitude, science process skills, and learning outcomes of learners. Learning with 5E learning cycle model devices can have a positive effect on science and attract students' interest in science learning.
