Abstract

This research aims to; (1) determine students' response to the learning process model Science Environment Technology and Society (SETS). (2) High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) of students after attending the learning model Science Environment Technology and Society (SETS). This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Karangawen Kabupaten Demak Semester in Second Semester of School year 2016/2017. The subject of this research is a Class IX student as many as 36 students were given a learning model Science Environment Technology and Society  (SETS) assisted worksheet. Learning SETS model with the stages of invitation, concept formation, application concept, concept stabilization, and assessment. This study to develop High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) of students with indicators of analyzing, evaluating and creating. Data collection techniques used observation, test and questionnaire techniques. The results of the study as follows: (1) Student’s worksheet Science  based Science Environment Technology and Society  (SETS) to foster High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) of students who have characteristics consistent step learning based SETS. (2) Worksheet is categorized as very feasible with validation result (expert, and educational practitioner) aspect of 90.07%, content and language with student’s worksheet very good category, and supported by student response to worksheet science is interesting and easy to learn. In a limited trial of 100.00% with good category, and field trials of 89.00% with good category, and learning outcomes conducted by Teachers Science SMP / MTs of 100.00% with very good category. (3) increased increased scores for High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) after using student’s worksheet science indicated by N-Gain calculation results demonstrate the value of 0.71 to a high category.
