Abstract

Abstract

Argumentation is a very important process in leaning science. Learning science that involve argumentation can train students to be able to scientifically argue about a concept, defend their arguments, and refuse others by giving supporting evidence also logical reasons. One of the goals to be achieved in learning science in junior high school is currently at the student has the ability to argue in solving problems related to the content of science. To be able to argue with the correct based on the concept that requires an understanding of a concept properly. Toulmin argumentation skills emerged as an effective model for improving the quality of problem solving through preparation of an argument diagram. Through the preparation of an argument diagram consisting of a claim backed with evidence and reason, students can practice to develop skills related concepts of science. Innovation in learning model science in junior high school been done by researchers with developing learning models argumentation skills that can improve argumentation skills and understanding of the concept. The model developed is expected to be an alternative solution to improve argumentation skills and understanding of concepts students.
