Abstract


Creativity becomes very important, according to research GCI (Global Creativity Index) in 2015 that states from 139 countries in the world, Indonesia is in 115th position with the global creativity index is 0.202. Creativity is ability to combine two or more existing ideas, it can be new ideas or ways on problem solving such that is obtained possible answers that were varied. Each students had different creativity skill when solving problems, since each students was born with different nature that had different types of intelligence. This research is a qualitative descriptive. This is aims to describe creativity of junior high school students with linguistic intelligences to solve rectangle problems. The research results showed that subject with linguistic intelligence could show fluency and flexibility, since the subject was capable to make two other shapes of two-dimensional figures namely trapezoidal and triangle. Besides, the subject was capable to make another shape such as a kite, although just by speaking it out. The subject was also capable to use a different way by using paper that is cut, then is created become another shapes.
