The application of PhET Media to mastery science subject learning result of sixth grade student of SDN Lidah Wetan II Surabaya

Abstract


This study objective was to mastery the sixth grade elementary students learning result in science subject, electrical circuit material using PhET media. This research was conducted at SDN Lidah Wetan II Surabaya with the number of students who were received treatment during research as many 37 students, there were 21 female students and 16 male students. This research design applied Kemmis S. & McTaggart model. This study consisted of 3 cycles. Each cycle comprised of 3 stages: planning, action and observation, and reflection. The achievement of research objective data obtained through observation and test. Data of research result of learning using PhET media showed the improvement of student learning result mastery. Classical mastery on the cognitive aspect improved from 70.27% in first cycle, to 78.38% in second cycle, in the third cycle students' cognitive abilities have reached 94.59% and have reached mastery as expected. From the result of data analysis, it can be concluded that the application of PhET media is suitable as a learning media for elementary school students so it was suggested to teachers to applied PhET media in learning. Science learning by applied PhET media can improve the learning result mastery.
