Abstract


This research is aimed at designing an appropriate (valid, practical, and effective) TTW type cooperative model learning material to assist written communication skill on climate change topic for the students in the second semester of VII grade at SMP Negeri 10 Kota Bima. The learning material was pilot-tested to 12 students in the VII grade of SMP Negeri 10 Kota Bima according to four D model. The design of this study employed One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The data were gathered through validation, observation, test, and questionnaire. The validity of the data was analyzed descriptive quantitatively, the completion of the learning process was obtained through the utilization of scoring criteria, and written communication skill analysis was described according to the final score which is based on the score scaling. The research reveals that: the validity of the learning material and the implementation of the lesson plan are in good quality; the completion of lesson plan is in satisfactory category; the students’ dominant activity is communication in written form which is 15,31%; the obstacle found were the students are not familiar to TTW type cooperative model. The students gave very good feedback on the employment of TTW type cooperative model. Therefore, it can be concluded that TTW type cooperative model teaching and learning assisted in students’ written communication skill
