Problem-Based Learning to Exercise Students’ Concept Comprehension And Critical Thinking Skill

Abstract


The research aims to develop the science learning equipment orienting to the learning model based on the problem to exercise the students’ concept comprehension and critical thinking skill toward the sound propagation in fourth grade of elementary school. This developmental research employs 4D (Four-D Model) which is only up to the development phase. The learning equipment comprising lesson plans, student teaching materials, student worksheet, concept comprehension test, and critical thinking skill test. The result shows the learning equipment validity, student teaching materials and student work sheet reading level, and lesson plans realization good and denotes the enhancement of students’ activities centring to the students themselves with the positive response to the learning process and completeness accomplishment in concept comprehension and critical thinking skill by the students. In accordance with the result, all in all, the science learning equipment orienting to the learning model based on the problem to exercise the elementary students’ concept comprehension and critical thinking skill is proper to be used for a learning activity.
