Abstract


This study was designed to develop a proper Problem Based Learning model in teaching-learning tools in order to practice students’ science literacy skill towards hydrocarbon subject. The development of teaching-learning tools is adapted from Dick and Carey’s model. The writers apply one-group pretest-posttest design which addressed to ten students of XI MIA MA NU Sidoarjo. The results of this study are determined by: the valid teaching-learning media and reliable the readability of students’ text book is well categorized, the implementation of teaching and learning process is well conducted, the activity during students centered learning, positive responses from students toward teaching and learning process and the increase of students’ science literacy supported by high N-Gain score in multiple choice and essay questions.
