Abstract


This study aims to develop learning tools and know the effectiveness of learning. Research method in development of learning tools refered to “Designing Effective Instructionâ€. While experimental research with two-group pretest posttest design method. Developed learning tools  is cooperative learning tools with predict observe explain strategy in topic volume of cuboid and cube. Learning tools consist of Learning tools plans, POE Task, and Learning Tests. Learning tools were good quality by criteria of validity, practicality and effectiveness. Learning using these learning tools was very effective for teaching the volume of cuboid and cube. Cooperative learning tool with predict observe explain (POE) strategy was good quality because the teacher was easy to implement the steps of learning, students easy to understand the material and students' learning outcomes completed classically. Learning using this learning tool was effective because learning activities were appropriate and students were very active. Students' learning outcomes were completed classically and better than conventional learning. This study produced a good learning tools and effectively used in learning. Therefore, these learning tools can be used as an alternative to teaching the volume of cuboid and cube
