ABSTRACT.This study was aimed to describe the development process and the result of developing a set of well qualified learning device and also to determine the effectiveness of learning cycle 7E on the topic of prism and pyramid in eighth grade.

The design of the study is Research and Development using ADDIE model that consists of five steps namely Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The learning devices developed are Lesson Plan, Student’s Worksheets, and Achievement Test. The subject of this study were two classes, one as trial class and another as implementation class. Based on the analysis of the data, it can be concluded that: (1) Using ADDIE model can produce as well-qualified learning devices of learning cycle 7E on the topic of prism and pyramid, which were valid, practical, and effective. (2) Based on the result of the descriptive analysis, learning device of learning cycle 7E was effective to teach on the topic of prisms and pyramids. This was based on the ability of the teacher manage the learning process is good, the student’s activity was effective, the student’s response to the learning device and the learning process were positive, and the classical mastery learning was reached.
