Developing problem based learning model on linear equation in two variables material for eight grade students of junior high school

Abstract


This study was aimed at producing problem based teaching materials of linear equation with two variable material in eigth grade of junior high school. Development research model referred to designing effective instruction by J.E Kemp was adopted. Teaching materials included lesson plan, students’ worksheets containing problem activities, and student examination. Problem topics comprised make the model of  system linear equation in two variables, solve the model of  system linear equation in two variables, and solve the autentic problems use system linear equation in two variables concept. The results of this study showed that the teaching materials were valid, practical and effective.
