Abstract

The purpose of this development research to produce product development tools to produce learning tools that are valid, practical and effective so as to improve student learning outcomes in junior high school. This learning is done by applying the learning tool of Metacognitive Strategy to Student Self-Efficacy. This research uses development design with 4D development model and test design using Quasiexperimen design on 12 students of class IX SMPN 3 Satu Atap Lumban lintong. The research method used research development method (research and development), with the selected development design is 4D development model. Data collection used questionnaire, and pretest-postest. Data analysis technique used is product moment correlation analysis and t test.

Data analysis techniques used descriptive quantitative-qualitative. The results showed; 1) Learning tools developed are valid and valid; 2) Practicality of learning tools reviewed from: (a) Implementation of learning done 98,37% very well, (b) 96,04% active student follow process of learning, 3) Device effectiveness viewed from response 97,63% Positive response to the device and learning implementation; The result of t-test was obtained from Self-Efficacy Control class questionnaire and experiment class of 0.039 and T-test Self-Efficacy Ability Each student was 0.000 in Control class and Experiment class.
