Abstract

Theory of teaching and learning has an important role in the learning process. The weakness of students in math is a lack of understanding of the concept on the material. This is caused by the process of teaching mathematics is simply centered on teachers and students delivering materials to solve problems. The application of cumulative learning theory using eight steps of learning according to comulative learning theory is motivation, understanding, acquisition, storage, memory back, generalization, performance and feedback. This research aims to describe the application of comulative learning theory in calculating the volume of a triangular prism and the tube also the students responses on mathematical learning with the learning theory. This research used a qualitative approach and it is descriptive research. The data are gotten by observation, fild notes, kuesioner, test, and interview. The results showed that very good the students' response to the learning process with the application of the learning theory of cumulative.
