Abstract


The Samin community is a group of people who follow the Samin Surosentiko teachings that emerged during the Dutch colonial period. For more than 100 years the Samin community has undergone a change in the social and cultural institutions that they have embraced. The life of the samin community is influenced by the geographical conditions of the region in which they live. So what they do must have something to do with the nature in which they live. Society Samin in its development has been through various kinds of pressure.  This research is conducted on Samin community to know how the mindset of Samin Society in recognizing and applying mathematics in everyday life even though they are not going to school by using descriptive qualitative research type with ethnography approach. he data and information obtained from the literature study, field observation, recording, documentation, and interview will be described as being and analyzed. Data analysis techniques are: reduction, collection, presentation, domain analysis, taxonomic analysis and conclusion. The results obtained in the research is to know the mathematical mindset of Samin society in everyday life for example in determining the marriage day Samin apply the concept of division, the concept of addition.  Keywords: Ethnomatematics, Society Samin, mindset
