Proof of Algebra as a Prosep of MTs Students Reviewed from Gender Differences

Abstract


This research to describe Algebra Proof as a Prosep Junior High School Students Reviewed from the gender Differences. It uses the phases prosep such as  pre-procedures, procedures, multi procedure, process, and prosep.

This research is a descriptive research with qualitative approach. Research subjects consisted of 2 students with high ability student men and women. Data collection techniques are task-based on interviews to obtain the data on algebra proof as a prosep.

The results of the study showed that in stages of pre-procedure : both of students able to find the required statements and able to use the related information and apply them; Stages of procedure: They resolving the problem of proof as planned before it; Multi procedure stages: They have two ways of solving problems and has the best way of choice; Process stages: male student  explaining the relationships between settlement steps and using them for new situations and being able to make settlements shorter and simpler, and able to use their abilities for new situations but female student but not being able to make the settlement shorter and simpler; And the prosep stages: They determine the symbols obtained from the proofing process and the concept.
