Abstract

ABSTRACT

This research is a development and experiment research with goal: develop collaborative problem solving learning tolls for statistical materials, know the effectiveness of learning, and improve students’ learning outcomes.

The process of developing learning tools using Morrison model. It began with the preparation phase, then the developmental phase. The research was pretest-posttest design. The results were obtained as follows: the ability of teacher in managing learning was good, students’ activity was very active, students gave positive responses, students’ learning outcomes completed classically. According to data analysis it was found that the item test was valid, reliable, and sensitive. From the results of expert validation and testing showed that learning tools have met the valid, practical and effective criteria. From the implementation of learning in the experimental class, it was obtained that the ability of teacher in managing learning is good, students’ activity was very active, students gave positive responses, and students’ learning outcomes completed classically.

While based on inferential statistical analysis it can be concluded that the problem solving ability of students who follow the learning of collaborative problem solving is better than the problem solving ability of students who follow the conventional learning for grade VIII student in statistical material.
