Abstract


In this study is descriptive qualitative research with the aim of this study is to describe visual representation student of seven grader at MTs Negeri 2 Pamekasan. The researcher adopt sample based on different sex those are male and female in problem solving. Data collection techniques in this study is the provision of tests and interviews. The main instruments are researcher and supporting instrument are mathematics ability test, problem solving test and interview guide. The results of this study are visual representation description of male and female students at MTs Negeri 2 Pamekasan in problem solving for every polya problem solving steps. Male uses accurate visual-schematic representation and female uses an inaccurate visual-schematic representation in problem solving.
