Integrating of Creativity on Science Through Inquiry Based Learning

Abstract


The experience that students gain through creative thinking contributes to their readiness for the 21st century. For this reason, educators have always considered creative thinking as a desirable part of any curriculum. The focus of this article is on integrating creative thinking through inquiry based learning on science. Teachers can provide student with 21st century life skills in creative thinking skills and production. Included is a model for teaching creative thinking through science with an established series of inquiry based learning. The result of this study are the creative thinking skills can be integrated by indicators create cognitive process, defining indicator as explanation of basic competence is strategy step to increase the lesson quality in a class. The improvement of students’ creative thinking skills show “high†category with N-gain score 0,7 and effect size score 6,73. Light’s Cafe LED creative product has the highest creative score on aspect of novelty, resolution, elaboration and synthesis. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the set of integrating creativity through inquiry based learning on science materials are feasibly to improve  the students’ creativity.
