Abstract

The purpose of this research is to study and analyze the influence of
applying of part learning method and whole learning method in terms of motor
ability towards volleyball upper-service skill. This research uses experimental
method with 2 x2 factorial design. The population in this study is 76 male
students of SMPK Giovanni Kupang, VIII grade. The sampling technique uses
purposive random sampling and data collection with volleyball upper-service
skill test. Motor ability is taken with barrow ability test. The data analysis used
variance analysis with F test at significant level 0,05%. The conclusion from the
research result is (1) the part and whole learning methods can improve the result
of learning volleyball upper-service skill. This is evident from the results of
research showing that there is an increase between the pretest and posttest of
each learning group. (2) the part learning methods are more effectively applied to
students with high motor ability as well as groups of students with low motor
ability, (3) there is interaction between learning method with motor ability
because p value (sig) = 0,05.
