Abstract


Abstract:. This study aims to determine the ability of students metacognition in solving abstract problems in the material physics. The study involved 35 students who took throuht test. Metacognition ability data obtained through written test consisting of 3 questions metacognisi knowledge and 4 metacognition skills. Data analysis done descriptively. The result of the research shows that students metacognition knowledge is dominated by declarative knowledge, that is students are able to recognize difficult problem and able to interpret in other form but less able to recognize method used and how to finish. While students' metacognition skills are more dominant in planning and monitoring. Prediction and evaluation skills are still relatively low. Overall metacognition ability of students included in the low category.
