How teaching and learing processes based on sosioscientific issues on the solubility topics to chemical literacy?

Abstract


This study aims to obtain information about the study of chemistry on solubility and solubility results conducted in schools. The method in this research is descriptive that involves analysis of five lesson plan and its instrument and interview. The results of this study are: first, student learning activity on solubility topics is less integrated with phenomenon socioscientific issues. Second, the design of teacher lesson plan does not related between the concept and the concept of application, especially on socioscientific issues. Third, socioscientific issues are still poorly applied in learning and have no orientation to chemical literacy. The findings indicate that the need for the application of learning models that can increase scientific literacy based on socioscientific issues.
