Abstract

The aim of this study was to know students’ spatial reasoning in solving geometry problem based on personality types. This study was used qualitative descriptive approach to examine four participants which represented each type of Keirsey’s personality called “The Keirsey Temperament Sorterâ€. The results showed that guardian, artisan, idealist, and rational types had different ability of spatial reasoning in solving geometry problem. In spatial visualization, it was obtained that guardian and rational students were able to identify the figures correctly. In mental rotation, it indicated that idealist student could not imagine the rotation of an object directly. In the other side, artisan student had a better spatial reasoning ability rather than rational and idealist students.
