Student’s Thinking Profile in Solving PISA Test Content Shape and Space Based on van Hiele Theory

Abstract


This research is a qualitative descriptive research that aims to describe students' thinking profile in solving standard PISA content shape and space problem based on van Hiele theory at Hatyaiwittayalai Somboonkulkanya School Thailand. This research uses several instruments namely van Hiele test, PISA standard question, interview guides, van Hiele test assessment guidance and PISA standard test scoring rubric. The subject of this study consists of 4 students who are students of Matthayom 4/2 class with capabilities based on van Hiele category. Taking the subject was taken from the students according to the van Hiele level category, as many as 40 students took the van Hiele test and obtained 15 people pra visualization level, 6 people visualization level, 2 people level analysis, 2 people informal deduction level, 1 person deduction level and 14 people can not be categorized. Determination of the subject taken 4 people from the level of visualization, analysis, informal deduction and deduction that has the ability of a qualified English language. Based on the research results obtained subject SV00 can reach 50% indicator at the stage of visualization and 33.3% in the level of analysis. SA01, SDI02 and SD03 can achieve 100% in visualization indicators and 33.3% in the analysis, but SD03 can reach 66.67% in the analysis and informal deduction, and can reach 50% in the indicator of deduction.
