Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the effectiveness chemistry teaching materials using the KAPRA-based guided-discovery model to improve the critical thinking skills of study participants in the material of electrolyte solution and non-electrolyte solution. This research uses experimental method with one-group pretest posttest design using one experiment class. The population in this study were all students of class X MA NW Selaparang West Lombok district. Data analysis techniques were performed using an N-gain test. The results showed that there is an increase in critical thinking skills after learning by using teaching materials using the KAPRA-based guided-discovery model. Therefore, this chemistry teaching material is declared as effective learning innovation based on critical thinking indicator which is included in medium category with N-gain of 0.5.
