Abstract

Inquiry learning model is the learning model suggested in the 21st-century learning. The 21st century learning process will be good if supported by teaching material that brings students into a real-life situation. This research aimed to design and develop teaching material oriented inquiry-based learning was valid. Research type was research and development used 4-D model. The research process starts from define stage, design teaching material and development (included validation and small group trial). Small group trial with the number of students was 14. Validation of teaching materials by three experts and focus group discussion (FGD). The result of the research shows that the teaching material that was created obtained the validity value of 87.01% with the reliability of 0.69. Values obtained show that teaching material oriented inquiry-based learning was feasible to be used in a biology lesson.
