Analysis Students’ Mathematical Disposition

Abstract


The purpose of this research is to describe students’ mathematical disposition. Population in this research was all students studying in the 9th grade of junior high school in West Bandung. The sample was one of ten classes that consist of 34 students (20 female and 14 male). The sample was chosen by random sampling technique. The method in this research was descriptive quantitative research. Data in this research was collected by questionnaire. The questionnaire consists of 15 item mathematical disposition scales. The items were classified into five components; confidence, curiosity, flexibility, reflection persistent and tenacious. Confidence was represented by three point statements, point 1, 2, and 3. Curiosity was represented by three point statements, point 4, 5, and 6. Persistent and tenacious was represented by three point statements, point 7, 8, and 9. Flexibility was represented by two point statements, point 10 and 11. Reflection was represented by four point statements, point 12, 13, 14, and 15. Research finding shows that percentage of confidence is 20%, curiosity is 20%, persistent and tenacious is 21%, flexibility is 21%, and reflection is 23%.
