Abstract


The study aims to describe the effectiveness of edutainment based mathematics learning media with problem based learning model in terms of students' concept understanding. The product of instructional media used in this research is a game smarthphone on statistics material. This research is an experimental research with one group pretest-posttest. The study population covers all students of class VIII SMPN 6 Yogyakarta year lesson 2017/2018. Samples given treatment or as an experimental class are students of class VIII A SMPN 6 Yogyakarta. The instrument used in this research is a test to measure the understanding of students' mathematical concepts and observation sheet of learning implementation. Data analysis using t one sample test and t-paired sample test. The results showed that the media of learning mathematics-based edutainment with problem-based learning model is effective in terms of understanding the concept of mathematics students.
