Abstract

PT. Betts Indonesia is a company engaged in industry with its products, namely oral care packaging, which is usually called a laminate tube. The 75 gram laminate tube product for brand of the 75 gram Pepsodent White is the product with the highest order quantity. So far, the results of product inspection conducted by the Quality Assurance division (QA) have not been carried out on a continuous statistical analysis, but the production results are only presented in graphical form so that to reduce defective products is done using six sigma analysis. This study aims to determine the capability index, sigma level, and find out the causes of defects in the production of 75 grams of Pepsodent White laminate tube using  control chart and Ishikawa diagram. The quality of the laminate tube measured in this study is tube length. The results show that the production process in February 2019 is not capable because the value of Cp is 0.77 and Cpk is 0.32 with a sigma level of 3.644. After repairs, the production process in April 2019 is still not capable because the value of Cp is 0.94 and Cpk is 0.56 with the sigma level increasing to 3.670. The cause of the defect is affected by errors in measuring due to the product, cutting error parts due to product changes, room temperature more than 20ºC and rough web.
