Abstract

This study aims at describing students's creative thinking process in sloving problems related to linear and quadratic equation system in terms of self-efficcacy and gender. Subjects of this study are two in State Junior High School who have learned the topic in linear equation system of two variables and have high mathematical skills. The question of self efficacy, gender, and the test of mathematical skill were used to choose the research subjects which consist of a subject with high self efficcacy and feminime, high self efficacy and maskuline but they have the same mathematics ability. The data were collected by giving problem solving assigment to elicit the students' creative thinking and an interview.

The results showed that the creative thinking process of students with high self efficcacy and feminime, high self efficacy and maskuline had varies activity in the preparation stage, incubation stage, illumination stage, verification stage. At the preparation stage, high self efficcacy and feminime, high self efficacy and maskuline were able to understanding problems. At the incubation stage, both of the subjects were able to experiencing difficulties in solving the the problems, then the problem was kept, as the result the problem solving process was stoped was stopped when the difficulties were faced. At illumination stage, the high self efficacy and feminime was able found an idea to solve the problem from the problem which was previously subsemed because of the difficulties. At verification stage, both of the subject had examine thee validity of the idea by comparing the result of the first method.
