Generalization Pattern Strategy of Students based on Gender

Abstract


This study aims to describe generalization patterns strategy of students in junior high school based on gender. The subject are two junior high school students in Makassar, South Sulawesi. The data gathered by a test and interview. They were used to get the students’ generalization patterns. The data then analyzed by reducing and describing the data to draw a conclusion. The results show that the boy subject used Counting, Whole object-No Adjustment, and Difference-Rate Adjusment in generalzing the patterns for numbers and pictures problems. Meanwhile, the girl subject used Counting and Expilicit.
