Abstract

in this paper, the effect of awareness coverage in controlling infectious disease is investigated. an SIS model considering individuals' behavioral changes due to the impact of media coverage and divided them in to aware and unaware susceptible is formulated. rate of behavioral changes from aware to unaware or otherwise is assumed as a specific function of media campaign. there are two equilibria that showed by the model: disease-free and endemic equilibria. the stabilities of both equilibrias are determined ANALYTICALLY. the model indicates a hopf and backward bifurcation. a result that prove the sense of awareness on the prevalence of infectious disease is exhibited. also some numerical simulations for supporting the analytical is given.
