Abstract

Liver histology of mice indicated to pre-Type 2 DM after being given the treatment of red rice has been studied. Experiments using male mice weighing 20-24 grams and indicated pre-Type 2 DM were grouped into 6 groups based on the test material given, namely: red rice, red rice yeast, red rice Yeast hydrolysate enzymatic (YHE), glibenclamide, positive control, negative control, and normal control. For each of the mice group treated daily with 1 mL of the test material by oral gavage. The result of this study showed that mice given red rice yeast gave the best results in terms of their liver histology.
