Abstract

One method to determine the subsurface structure is to use seismic methods. This method has better results compared to other geophysical methods. One of the identifications of subsurface structures is to use a profile of the P wave velocity and S wave values to depth. In this study, we used velocity profiles obtained from the results of hypocenter earthquake relocation using the Joint Hypocenter Determination (JHD) method. This method requires input data from earthquake parameters that have previously been obtained. In addition, this method requires an initial velocity model as the reference velocity in the inversion process matrix. The latitude, longitude, and elevation of the earthquake event recording station are also needed to determine the change in wave arrival time value to the station as a reference for the suitability of the reference model to obtain a new velocity model in the area studied
