Abstract


NCTM states that mathematical connection skills are one of the important abilities possessed by students. Important for teachers and students in the classroom is making connections because the purpose of teaching is to build a mathematical understanding. This study aims to describe the mathematics skills of junior high school students in solving mathematical problems in the field of statistics based on NCTM, there are 3 indicators in this study. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with the research subject being 65 students of Surakarta Batik Middle School. The research subjects were categorized into three categories, namely the category of high-capable students, the category of moderate-capable students, and the category of low-ability students. Data collection is done by giving tests in the form of essays and through interviews more in-depth information about students' mathematical connection skills in the statistical field.
