Abstract

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to produce a Student Worksheet (LKPD) based on Group Investigation learning to train the critical thinking skills of junior high school students who are worthy based on validity, practicality, and effectiveness. LKPD was developed with a 4-D research design namely Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate.

Limited trials were carried out in one class VIII MTs with 30 students. The validity was evaluated from the results of the RPP and LKPD validation by 3 expert lecturers, the practicality in terms of the implementation of lesson plans and constraints encountered in learning, effectiveness was seen from the results of the pretest and posttest critical thinking skills and questionnaire responses of students.

The results of the lesson plan validity get an average score of 3.8 categories very valid and reliability of 93% (reliable), while the validity of the LKPD gets an average score of 3.86, the category is very valid and reliability is 93% (reliable). Practicality in terms of the implementation of learning that gets a score of 3.59 with very good categories and reliability of 98.88% (reliable). Furthermore, effectiveness is seen from the results of the pretest and posttest that before the learning process none of the students achieved completeness, while after testing as many as 30 students were declared 22 complete and 8 were not completed Based on the calculation of N-Gain there were 11 high categorized students, 19 moderate category of students. While the average N-Gain result is 0.94 and is included in the high criteria. The responses of students showed an interest in LKPD of 92.68% with a very effective category. Based on the results of the study and discussion of the results of the study it can be concluded that the cooperative investigation group learning devices that have been developed are valid, practical, and effective so that it is feasible to practice the critical thinking skills of junior high school students.
