Abstract

Solving the problem is one of goals in learning.  In reality, there are still many students who make an error in geometry, particularly in two-dimensional figure. Students often have some different ways to understand the information from teacher. The style of students in absorbing, processing, and managing information is called learning style. Based on the previous studies, the investigation of the types of student errors based on learning styles has developed massively.   The study of styles of learning can be extend to the relationship with error type from student.

Thus, in this paper will investigate the modeling between the learning style and the number of error type in solving the problem about two-dimensional figure. The sample in this study consisted of 32 eight grade student. Data obtained from questionnaires and tests. There are two variables in this study, the independent variable is for learning styles and the number of error types becomes dependent variable. Hence, the appropriate approach is using Poisson regression.

The results show that coefficient of independent variable has a strong evidence to reject null hypothesis with alpha 0.05. It means that the learning style has significant impact for the number of error made by student. The model is , where x is the learning style.
