Abstract


The purpose of this study is to obtain a description of students' thinking profiles in solving  atmospheric science problems. This research is qualitative research. The subject of this research consists of 30 students on grade X of senior high school in Sidoarjo, Indonesia. The data collection techniques are questionnaires for students and interview sheets for teachers. The questionnaires consist of  some questions and the interview used semi-structured interview. The results showed difference profiles among the students' thinking  to solve problems and the students' desire to participate in the atmosperic science problem-solving learning.  The Impact of this study is as a guide for teachers to analyze and understand that students have different profiles of in higher-order thinking, so teachers should pay more attention to students' thinking profiles in designing meaningful learning.
