RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SELF-CONCEPT AND ACADEMIC PROCRASTINATION IN BP ASSA'ADAH Junior High School

Abstract


This study aims to determine the relationship between self-concept and procrastination. The hypothesis proposed in this study is that there is a relationship between self-concept and procrastination in junior secondary students based on pesantren assa'adah. This study uses a quantitative approach. This study consisted of all 312 BPAssa'adah Junior High School students as the population. The sample used was 187 students. The measuring instrument used in this study is to use two scales, namely the self-concept scale and the scale of academic procrastination. The data analysis method used to test the research hypothesis is Product Moments Correlation. All calculations are carried out using the help of the SPSS (Statistical Program for Social Science) version 20.00 computer program. Based on the results of the research analysis it is known that p is 0,000 where p <0.01 then Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. It can be said that there is a relationship between self-concept and academic procrastination in BP Assa'adah Middle School students. This can be seen in the analysis of the results of data analysis which shows the correlation coefficient (r) shows a value of 0.329 with a significance (p) of 0.000 or p <0.01.
