THE DEVELOPMENT OF LEARNING DEVICE THROUGH PROBLEM BASED LEARNING MODEL TO IMPROVE DIGITAL LITERATION AND CRITICAL THINKING ABILITY OF FIFTH GRADE ELEMANTARY SCHOOL STUDENT

ABSTRACT

The development of science and technology in the global era requires changes in education, especially in the learning process. The learning needed is transformative, active, critical, and technology-based learning that requires students to be able to construct knowledge with critical thinking through good digital literacy activities. Based on this, this is a research development of learning model using problem based learning to improve digital literacy and critical thinking skills of fifth grade students of elementary school.

This development research uses  4-D model that has been modified with the stages of defining, designing, developing and disseminating. The subjects of the study are the fifth grade of MI Darul Huda Tambaksari Mojokerto Regency. The research instrument uses a validation sheet, test, and an observation sheet of the learning process.

The product of this research is a problem based learning learning device that is packaged in hard files and soft files for distribution through social media so that it is easily accessible by teachers and educators who need a reference to the development of learning devices. The product was validated by experts and tested limitedly to MI Darul Huda Tambaksari students.

Student trials with an average score of 84 in learning using product development and the percentage value of classical learning completeness of 100% with digital literacy skills and critical thinking that increases from the pretestr results. So, it find s that the learning device is effective in learning process.
