Abstract
Research aims to improve the development learning material cooperative model of Jigsaw type that is feasible to improving communication skills in the excretory system. The learning material is developed using 4-D model with a design study off one group pretest-posttest design to 12 students of VIII-B class at SMPN 3 Bakam Bangka in the second semester of 2016/2017 academic year. The data collection applied using validation technique, observation, tes, questionaries and documentation. Bassed on research: (1) The validity of the learning instrument which comprises Syllabus, Lesson plans, Students book, Students worksheet, and a very valid communication skill test instrument; (2) The practicality of the learning instrument that were taken from: (a) the implementation of the lesson plans that is in good category (b) students highly positive response towards the material and the learning process and (3) The effectiveness of the learning instrument that was reviewed through; improved student communication skills with N-Gain 0.71 high criteria. Based on the data analysis, concluded that the development of cooperative learning model type jigsaw was feasible to improve communication skills in the excretory system.
