Abstract. The aims of this research is to reveal mathematical idea which be found at traditional village Kampung Salapan Karawang, other than the aims is to know why the name is Salapan, Salapan means Sembilan in Indonesia. This research uses qualitative methods with ethnography types. Because the focus of this research is to uncover mathematical things in a culture, this research can also be called ethnomatematics research. Research subjects in this study are some people Kampung Salapan, including the chairman of traditional village, also residents around the Kampung Salapan. Data was collected by several steps. First, with indepth interviewing the subject of this research, then with the participant observation, and the last with the documentation. The documentation is audio record, video record, artifacts, field notes, and many more. Because data was collected by various techniques and from the same sources, then is called triangulation technique. The data was analyzed by three step, first is data reduction, second is data display, and the last is drawing conclusion/verification. The result of the research showed that very much their habit based on mathematical concept, for example they measure the size of their homes of the same size when they do not get formal education in school. There are sstill many things that will be described in the result of this research.
