Abstract
In the 21st century it takes people who have the skills and skills to be able to compete in all areas of life. The cultivation of skills can be done through education. Therefore a learning model is needed that can improve the skills developed in the 21st century. One of the skills developed in the 21st century is problem solving skills. A learning model capable of improving problem solving skills is the OrDeP2E model. The OrDeP2E model stands for problem orientation, problem definition, hypothesis submission, hypothesis testing, evaluation. The purpose of this research is to describe the practicality of learning based on OrDeP2E model. The subject matter used in this research is about the properties of light.
Â
This research is a pre-experiment research using one group pre-test and post-test design. The research was conducted at SDN Wiyung I Surabaya, in grade IV A and IV B. The subjects of this study were two groups of students, 10 students from grade A and 10 students from grade B. Data analysis using the percentage formula of learning and observation. The results showed that the learning activity in group A showed 3.69 results for observers 1 and 3.67 for observers 2. The results of the implementation in class B showed the results of 3.65 for observers 1 and 3.75 for observers 2. These results indicate that the implementation of learning in both groups using the OrDeP2E model achieves very good criteria. This suggests that learning using the OrDeP2E model is practical to trace the science skills of grade IV primary school grade problem solving. The results of this study are also supported by the results of research (Panjaitan, 2015) which states that the OrDeP2E model is able to improve creative thinking skills.
