Abstract

One of the urgency of mathematics learning is how much a person's ability to solve mathematical problems. But in the process, not a few students to make mistakes when working on a math test. The number of errors made when solving math problems, an indication of the extent of student mastery of the material being taught. Apart from that, it turns out the different types of errors also depends on the personality of the students themselves. Learning styles are owned by the students allegedly contributed to the problem. On the basis of this phenomenon, the focus in this study, such as to know the diversity of students 'learning styles, to determine the characteristics of students' mistakes in solving math test that in terms of the different types of learning styles of students according to the theory of David Kolb, and to determine the type of fault what is being done by students in a math problem. The research places that SMK Patriot Cirebon. Types of research used in this research is qualitative research with case study approach. His research interests are students of class X SMK Patriot Cirebon. On the subject of the election process, students will be grouped based on the learning style according to David Kolb's theory. While that serves as the object of research the students' error in learning mathematical problem solving on materials Systems of Linear Equations Two Variables (SPLDV). Instruments used in this research were questionnaires and tests. The questionnaire used in this study was developed by the authors. The developer in the process of adopting the concept of Kolb Learning Style Inventory refers to KLSI version 3.1. As for the math test used in this study is an essay. Data collection techniques used in this study consists of observation, interviews, test, and Questionnaire. As for the analysis of data, using triangulation techniques. Departing from the discussion in the previous chapter, the authors put forward some Conclusions as follows; The diversity of learning styles in vocational Patriot Cirebon district is very diverse. Based on the theory of David Kolb used in this study, that there are four types of learning styles of students, including the type of diverger, type assimilator, Converger type, and the type of Accommodator. The research data distribution types of student learning styles of students diverger (3 students), students Type assimilator (4 students), studentsmode Converger  (8 students) and studentsmode Accommodator (9 students). While the findings of these types of errors student in mathematical problem-solving. At the student type diverger is the type of procedural error and error strategy, in students type assimilator, is the type of procedural and conceptual errors, the student type Converger is kind of procedural error, and the student type Accommodator is the type of conceptual errors. Furthermore, the research data showed there are three types of errors made by students in completing the math test. All three types are among others; 1) Type of conceptual errors, where the error occurred because of an incorrect understanding or deviate from the existing provisions, so this affects the students to make mistakes in the process of testing, 2) type of strategy error, where the error occurred because there is a process that siswaatas deadlock in the continuing process of the test, and 3) type of procedural error, where the error occurred when students using a systematic manner to carry out a test completion so the impact on the end result is not good.
