Abstract

Intelligence and personality are important factors to learn because in terms of academic achievement Ciorbea & Pasarica (2012). Each student with different personality types, both extrovert and introvert, has their own characteristics. Differences in personality types can affect the way students behave, communicate, and various activities are included in learning. People have different characteristics that affect their lives, even the way they communicate is influenced by the type of person they have. Communication is an important part of Mathematics education as a means to exchange ideas and tools to clarify understanding Weigand (1999). Said that the analysis of students' mathematical communication skills is very important for future educators to determine appropriate methods and models to overcome various problems experienced and will ultimately have an impact on improving learning outcomes Rohman (2017).This research focused to analyze the communication skills of students who have introvert-extrovert personality. Analysis of communication skills in this study focus on mathematical communication a her the student solve the mathematical problems. The mathematical communication ability of students who have intovert-extrovert personality will be analyzed descriptive qualitative method. The subjects of this research are 20 students of senior high school Mojolaban and 14 students of senior high school 2 Sukoharjo. Data used  are in the form of math problems and interviews. The results of this research are in the form of mathematical communication ability analysis of students who have introvert-extroverted personality is shown in Table 1.Table 1. Students having introvert-extrovert personality can be clasified into high, medium, and low category based on the obtained percentage. It is  high category if the percentage is between 67% - 100%, meanwhile medium category is between 34% - 66% and low category is between 0% - 33% is shown in Table 1.

Students are able to analyse and write the information obtained into mathematic symbols with introvert and extrovert personality are in low and high category. Students who are able to read with understanding a mathematical presentation with introvert and extrovert are in low and medium category. Student who are able to express ideas, mathematical situation both orally and picturely, graphically along with algebraic form with introvert and extrovert personality are in medium and high category. Students who are able to arrange conjectures, compose arguments, formulate definition of generalizations with introvert and extrovert are in high and low category. Students who are able to reveal a mathematical paragraph into its own language with introvert and extrovert personality are in low category is shown in Table 1.

The over view of this research that the mathematic communication skill of students having introvert personality are able to arrange conjectures, compose arguments, formulate definition of generalizations, but having difficulty in reading with understanding a mathematical presentation. Meanwhile, students having extrovert personality are able to explore ideas, but also having difficulty in revealing an idea or a mathematical paragraph in its own language. Therefore, students should be given mathematics problem exercises so that mathematic communication in every student is stimulated and  better.
