Abstract


Abstract: Student learning achievement is influenced by various factors, both cognitive and non-cognitive factors. Self esteem is one of the non-cognitive factors that influences mathematics learning achievement. The purpose of this study is to find out which students has better mathematics learning achievement between the students with a high, medium, or low self esteem. The type of this research is quantitative descriptive research. Data collection of students' mathematics learning achievement was obtained from the document of Semester Final Examination (UAS) of Gasal of Lessons Year 2017/2018, and self esteem data collected through questionnaire. The subjects of this study are the students of Junior High School grade VIII in Ponorogo District with categories of high school, medium, and low. The results of this study indicates that students with high self esteem has better learning achievement than students with medium self esteem, and students with medium self esteem has better learning achievement than students with  low self esteem.
