Abstract

This is the continuation research of validity test at a development stage in the form of practicability test of practical work module of animal structure by using modified free inquiry approach. This research uses Four-D model that consists of four stages (Define, Design, Develop and Disseminate); Define: defining and finding instructional needs, Design: designing resource materials prototype, Develop: modifying teaching materials prototype, at this stage feedback is received from formative evaluation and the teaching material is compatible with the revision. Two steps of this develop stage are expert assessment and development test, Disseminate; test validation, wrapping, dissemination and adoption (Thiagarajan, Semmel and Semmel, 1974: 6-9).

In this development test stage, the product practicality test is carried out to the students who are taking the animal structure course, to the lecturers of the animal structure course (expert lecturers) and to other lecturers of other courses (as non-expert lecturers). The evaluation of practicality uses the instrument of practicality in the form of questionnaires, for students consisting of 4 aspects of assessment, namely; 1) ease of use, 2) time required for implementation, 3) equivalency and 4) motivation, while for lecturers consisting of 5 aspects of assessment, namely; 1) ease of use, 2) time required for implementation, 3) equivalency, 4) easy to interpret and 5) motivation. The instruments use Likert Scale consisting of 4 answer options and the results of the instrument is processed using the percentage formula proposed by Riduwan (2012: 41).

From the instrument result, it is found that the practicality of animal structure module using modified free inquiry approach of the students is very practical (83.46%), and of the lecturer is also very practical (88.29%) (see Table 1 dan Table 2).
