The Development of Pedagogical Content Knowledge in Microteaching Course: A Case Study of Low-Achieving Prospective Mathematics Teacher

Abstract
This study investigate the development of low-achieving prospective mathematics teacher’s Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK) in microteaching course. Microteaching course is a course in which the prospective teachers for the first time learn to manage learning in a structured way. For the purpose, one prospective mathematics teacher was observed during her micro teaching. Micro-teaching videos, teacher’s lesson plans, teaching notes, and teaching reflection were analyzed. The result showed that having some teaching practice in micro teaching course can stimulate low-achieving prospective mathematics teacher to develop her mathematics teaching efficacy and therefore can assist her in conducting an effective learning.
