Abstract

This research is motivated by the role of technology affects in education at this time.  The developing of technology must be integrated into every lesson that cannot be separate, because the function of technology especially computer as a learning media, can provide a visual experience to students in interacting with the objects of mathematics. There are six fundamental principles for high-quality mathematics instruction. The six principles are equity, curriculum, teaching, learning, assessment, and technology. One of the form from technology progress in software that can be used in learning is GeoGebra. GeoGebra is dynamic mathematics software for all levels of education that combine arithmetic, geometry, algebra, and calculus.

The benefits of the use of GeoGebra are:(1) drawing a straight line which is usually done using a ruler can be done using a computer with faster and more accurate; (2) determining the equation linear line; (3) dragging, providing the animation, and visualizing clearly; (4) obtaining feedback and evaluating whether the work done is true or false; and (5) investigating and showing properties easier.

The survey results the lack of understanding of students in mathematics one caused by the learning of mathematics was too concentrated on procedural matters and mechanistic, teacher-centered learning, mathematical concepts presented in informative, and students are trained resolve the many problems without deep understanding. As a result, the ability of reasoning and strategic competencies students do not develop properly. Most teachers at the schools do not use a computer that has been there to help learning, mostly just in the lessons of technology information is the computer itself, or power point. It was rarely used for learning mathematics computer with special programs such as Matlab, Cabri, GeoGebra, so on.

To resolve this issue, researcher choose exactly learning approach that will be used with GeoGebra that provides the ability to develop mathematical reasoning in high school students. Researcher select learning approach Creative Problem Solving (CPS) as approach to solve problems with creative ways in developing ideas that subsidiaries at the moment to solve mathematics problems.

This research aims to enhance the ability of students’ mathematical reasoning who got geometry learning with Creative Problem Solving Approach assisted Geogebra. The method of this research is quantitative that using pre-test and post-test control group design. To collect the data, 6 items of essay test that related to reasoning ability is used in this research. The data then analyzed in descriptive and inferential statistics.

Based on the results of the data analysis, mathematical reasoning ability in experiment group shows a better result from control group. There are no diferencies between the significant against mathematical reasoning ability between students who get learning geometry assisted CPS Geogebra and students who get mathematics teaching with conventional learning based on learning and middle mathematical prior knowledge. Although in totally and in another mathematical prior knowledge there is no difference enhance the ability of students’ mathematical reasoning who got geometry learning with Creative Problem Solving Approach assisted Geogebra and students who got conventional learning.
